Heaven Bloom kinetic installation

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2021

Scanning this tall interior space from ceiling to floor reveals WHYIXD's Heaven Bloom Kinetic Installation as the commanding central feature, a cascading arrangement of metallic flower-like forms mounted against a dramatic marble wall. Beginning at the top, a dark mirror-finished ceiling reflects the uppermost installation elements, creating the impression of forms continuing infinitely upward. Directly below, horizontal bands of cool white light trace where ceiling meets wall. The marble backdrop spans the full wall height, its surface characterized by dramatic grey veining against creamy white, cool to the touch like polished stone. The installation itself forms an elongated diamond shape, widest at its center, narrowing toward top and bottom. At the apex, densely clustered florets display warm bronze and golden tones reminiscent of autumn leaves or aged brass, carrying the warmth of late afternoon sunlight. Moving downward, the metallic petals transition through champagne and soft pewter, the temperature cooling like evening approaching. The lower sections bloom in pearl white and bright chrome, crisp and cool as morning frost. Each individual unit resembles an opened umbrella or seed pod, with faceted metallic petals radiating from central stems, their surfaces catching light differently depending on angle, creating constant subtle shimmer. The overall impression suggests thousands of metallic flowers frozen mid-flutter, their collective presence both dynamic and peaceful. Below the installation, the floor level reveals an elegant seating arrangement with cream-colored sofas positioned centrally, their fabric appearing soft and yielding. Dark teal accent chairs flank the sofas, their forms angular and modern. A low table holds white orchids, their organic curves echoing the installation above. To the right, a grey sectional sofa with coordinating cushions offers additional seating. The flooring appears dark and smooth, contrasting with the luminous wall treatment.

“Heaven Bloom” is located in the lobby of a building which was designed with concept of nature. The installation is composed of 144 mechanical metal flowers which were made of aluminium and stainless steel, different finishes were applied to metal in order to produce special textures and colors. The metal flowers will be in bloom out of the surface and become a dynamic piece collocated with the ambient sounds. Different patterns and movements allow flowers create a near-natural scenario indoors, building a simulation of a phenomena in nature.
