Dahua Park City Exhibition

A striking contemporary building rises before you, its form suggesting a vast curved sail or blade sweeping diagonally upward from right to left against an evening sky. Scanning from the background forward, the upper portion presents a pale blue sky deepening to soft pink and warm apricot tones near the horizon, with the silhouettes of distant towers visible at the far left. The building itself dominates the composition, its surface clad entirely in metallic panels colored a deep gray-blue like weathered steel or titanium, cool to the touch in imagination. These panels are arranged in a diamond or chevron pattern, and each panel is perforated with hundreds of small circular holes creating a lace-like texture, as though the solid mass has been transformed into a mesh or screen. Approximately two-thirds up the facade, a wide horizontal opening curves across the building, revealing warmly lit interior spaces glowing with amber and gold light like honey or candlelight, creating a striking contrast between the cool exterior and warm interior. The building's base at ground level features floor-to-ceiling glass walls allowing views into a bright lobby space. In the foreground, a shallow reflecting pool stretches toward the building, its still surface mirroring the structure and creating a sense of calm and spaciousness. Curved stepped terraces descend toward the water like an amphitheater, their gentle arcs echoing the building's sweeping form. Landscape elements including trees and low plantings in fresh spring greens soften the composition's edges. The overall atmosphere feels peaceful yet dramatic, the dying light of day creating a contemplative twilight mood of transition between day and evening, activity and rest.

The visual experience of the building is closely related to the sight lines. How to hide and expose is the key that runs through the whole project. The narrow road that leads to the site is turned into a tranquil twisting path, which creates a varying experiences along the way. The building adopts complicated curved forms, which outline multi-level spaces. The interior circulation route creates a spatial sequence and embraces the lake view to provide pleasing experiences.
