Golden A' Design Award Winner 2022
This interior architectural photograph presents a grand double-height commercial space during the blue hour of early evening, when daylight fades and interior illumination begins to dominate. The overall impression is one of flowing warmth within generous proportions, a space that feels simultaneously civic in scale and intimate in atmosphere. Beginning at the upper portion of the image, a dramatic curved wooden element sweeps across the composition from left to right, its surface finished in a warm honey color reminiscent of maple syrup or golden oak, with visible wood grain suggesting natural material rather than synthetic. This curving form appears to be a balustrade or parapet for an upper mezzanine level, and its continuous ribbon-like movement creates a sense of gentle embrace overhead. The wood surface would feel smooth and slightly warm to the touch, with the subtle ridges of grain detectable under fingertips. Below this sweeping curve, the space opens into a generous lounge area at the center of the composition. A raised wooden platform, similar in warm coloring to the overhead element, supports a grouping of contemporary sofas and armchairs upholstered in soft neutral tones: pale gray like morning fog and warm sand like a summer beach. These would feel plush and yielding, inviting extended sitting. Above this seating area, a suspended lighting installation comprises dozens of small pendant lights arranged in rows, creating a glittering constellation effect with warm amber light like captured candlelight or fireflies. The floor throughout is polished terrazzo in cool gray flecked with white chips, smooth and slightly cool underfoot like polished stone after rain. Along the right side, floor-to-ceiling windows with slender black vertical frames reveal a courtyard landscape in blue twilight tones, with bare trees and greenery visible. In the right foreground, a striking sculptural element commands attention: a large spherical form constructed of white geometric triangular panels, like a faceted crystal or abstract egg, partially resting in a rectangular reflecting pool whose still dark water mirrors the sculpture above.
Litchi is the cultural and ecological feature of Conghua where the project is located. Taking litchi as the starting point, the designer combines modeling with humanities to display and display the overall space furnishings, hoping that the audience can feel the combination of traditional humanistic characteristics and modern decoration after entering them. The large-scale litchi art installation improves the atmosphere and memory points, elegant color matching, bookshelves are covered with walls, adding humanistic atmosphere and texture.
